101Manjaro Hardware DetectionBug ReportBackend / CoreLowCalamares / MHWD installs AMD Catalyst by defaultWaiting on Customer

Task Description

Calamares / MHWD is installing the proprietary AMD driver and Catalyst software by default. AMD discontinued development of the proprietary Linux driver, nevertheless it is chosen over the free driver. An installation of vesa-ati is not possible, neither while installing the OS (using “default” or “nonfree” makes no difference) nor afterwards. video-catalyst performs terrible, gpu sensors are not being detected, CCC is useless. They only way to getting vesa-ati installed is a fresh installation of 16.08.

Output “mhwd”:

we all know this problem:

libGL error: driver pointer missing
libGL error: failed to load driver: radeonsi
libGL error: unable to load driver: swrast_dri.so
libGL error: failed to load driver: swrast

now you have to delete the integrated libs.
but there is something else. we avoid loading them in the first place by changing the startup script and add

export LD_PRELOAD='/usr/$LIB/libstdc++.so.6 /usr/$LIB/libgcc_s.so.1 /usr/$LIB/libxcb.so.1 /usr/$LIB/libgpg-error.so'

this way it wont load it. i’ll attach this patch. you only need to integrate it in the steam-manjaro PKGBUILD at the area with all other patches

if [[ "$CARCH" == "x86_64" ]]; then
prepare() {
    patch -d "${_pkgname}" -Np1 -i "${srcdir}/lib32-flashplugin-path.patch"
    patch -d "${_pkgname}" -Np1 -i "${srcdir}/alsa_sdl_audiodriver.patch"
    patch -d "${_pkgname}" -Np1 -i "${srcdir}/lib32_path_and_steam_runtime.patch"
    patch -d "${_pkgname}" -Np1 -i "${srcdir}/mesa_gfx_ldpreload.patch"
}
else
prepare() {
    patch -d "${_pkgname}" -Np1 -i "${srcdir}/alsa_sdl_audiodriver.patch"
    patch -d "${_pkgname}" -Np1 -i "${srcdir}/lib_path_and_steam_runtime.patch"
    patch -d "${_pkgname}" -Np1 -i "${srcdir}/mesa_gfx_ldpreload.patch"
}
fi

Here is a prebuild pkg for testing
(64bit only)

https://flatchest.org/s/nextcloud/index.php/s/6XbNrk7G945lsXZ

if this works you can also remove the “steam-clean” stuff (since it dont works anymore anyways and we can get rid of the steam fix with every update)

tested on:
AMDGPU(mesa),radeon(mesa),intel(mesa).
so it would be good if someone could test this with the unfree drivers.

Currently we may differ depending on the edition we create. The root-image is about 1,3G in size. kde-image on the other hand already 5,3G, which exceeds the size check of 5,5G already. xfce-image is at 3,4G. That would result into 4,7G, however a user managed to get an unbootable installation. For the beginning I think 8,0G might be a sane value, however a more dynamicly approach might be best.

Task Description

Hi,
Calamares v 2.2.3 cannot install manjaro 16.06.1 xfce because of a boost.python error in job boot loader.
I install from a usb live stick, which is sda to a hdd which is sdb. The other hdds, sdc, sdd are untouched.

sha1sum for the image manjaro-xfce-16.06.1-x86_64.iso is fine.
And after reboot the pc displays: “Grub loading” but not anymore “Welcome to grub” afterwards.

partitions.png does show the auto selection from calamares before installation.
calamares_logs_full.txt ist from a terminal and sudo calamares -d

see:

Task Description

Hey all, not sure if this is the right place for this, as I’m unsure if this is a bug with Pamac itself or an installed package. Feel free to move it or ask me to if necessary.

System Info: Manjaro XFCE edition
Dell Latitude E6500 Laptop
Separate Home, Root, and Boot partitions under LVM and LUKS disk encryption.
(More to come if necessary)

Last system update: 1-2 weeks ago.
Steps: 1. With above setup, perform a full system update using Pamac.

Result: - During or shortly after update, the screen goes black (I’m assuming either a reboot or restart of XFCE?) then prints out the following:

[ 311.701808] EXT4-fs (sda1): VFS: Can't find ext4 filesystem
[ 311.702974] EXT4-fs (sda1): VFS: Can't find ext4 filesystem
[ 311.704168] EXT4-fs (sda1): VFS: Can't find ext4 filesystem

Expected: - System resumes like normal

Notes: - I’m assuming something with the update isn’t aware of LUKS to prompt me to decrypt the disk.

I apologize for the brevity, but I’m at work and can’t spend more time on this at the moment. I’ll try to update with more info and attempted debugging when I get home tonight.

Task Description

I’m using kernel 4.8.1-1 and having random crahes (about 0-3 per day).
The crashes seem to have happend in kernel 4.7, too. But they are now more frequently.

My system freezes at random times (only ping works). At the moment of this crash the computer was idling with the usual desktop applications.
Upstream is not notified yet, because I don’t know how much the kernel is modified by manjaro.

System is a
amd octocore with 32GB ram
a radeon rx460
4 HDDs and 1 SDD
and a 970A-G/3.1 ASRock mainboard

Task Description

Currently npm is installed in the wrong path, which cause in Permission-Issues if you try to use npm with -g (global) option.
If you wan’t to use global-option, you have to do “sudo”.

NPM-Page give some infos to check if npm is installed in right way:

Find the path to npm’s directory:

npm config get prefix For many systems, this will be /usr/local.

WARNING: If the displayed path is just /usr, switch to Option 2 or you will mess up your permissions.

Website: https://docs.npmjs.com/getting-started/fixing-npm-permissions

So Manjaro install npm to config-prefix which cause a WARNING on npm-Page. (to /usr/)
This means, if you execute nodejs-Code via such global installed npm-packages, it will executed with root-permissions. This is a security-risk.

So please fix this wrong path in the next package-Release.

Task Description

Hello,

last friday (20. January) I did a system update including packages for Xorg.
Since then I experience random Xorg crashes ending up in the login screen.

Part of my daily workflow includes working with a windows terminal server
using xfreerdp. At first I thought the crashes happen when I am working in
the terminal server window.

I switched to using remmina instead of xfreerdp. Additionaly I only start the
terminal session from time to time. Since then it feels like less crashes have
happend, but yesterday my desktop crashed when no terminal session was running.

My hardware is a Lenovo T460 Notebook with Intel+nVidia optimus/bumbelbee.
But according to the cash dump only intel drivers are included.

I attached the upgraded packages list from the pacman.log (quite a long list).

From journalctl the systemd-coredump log:
Jan 26 12:30:21 nb-user systemd-coredump[10318]: Process 1647 (Xorg) of user 0 dumped core.

I installed Manjaro on a Hp Elitebook 2640p. This notebook can change the backlight level to zero brightness (can’t see anything on the screen). The screen brightness is adjusted via XFCE shortcuts. XFCE Power Manager locks the screen with LightLocker, when the lid is closed. LightDM cannot adjust backlight level via shortcuts. If I turn down the backlight, and close the laptop lid, LightDM doesn’t appear, and the screen backlight can be adjusted only after unlocking.
What about using illum, or acpid for changing backlight?

Ive posted an issue ive found when trying to install manjaro from usb on reddit:

I found testing with multiple usb sticks, multiple computers, virtual box.
The same issue happens every time with 17.0 and 17.0.1.

The only way to install manjaro on any of my machines was to use a dvd drive (incredibly slow).
For those machines without dvd I cannot get it installed.

Ive marked this as high due to its being a pretty important issue. Feel free to adjust...

Hi, I’ve got a DELL XPS 15 9550 which has a Thunderbolt 3 USB Type C port.

I’ve recently bought a typec to c cable to charge my phone, but when I plug it, it charges only for a few seconds, then no sign of life from the cable. But the kernel seems not to be happy with it, and also the temperatures.
The “sensors” command reported after a few minutes a temperature of 60c° from “pch_skylake-virtual-0” and NOT from the GPU or CPU, so it can probably be a sort of I/O controller, and that is a very high temperature.

I’m using linux kernel 4.11.1-1-Manjaro. I honestly don’t know how to report this to upstream kernel developers.

dmesg in the attachment, you can see when I plugged the cable in the end

for 2 versions of manjaro KDE there now is xf86-input-libinput as default input.

it would be nice if you could remove it again. libinput will be supported with wayland for KDE Plasma, but breaks many things on X11.

right now:

  • scrolling in all QML based things is very slow (Plasma itself, with all dialogs and menus, discover)
  • scrolling in some other areas of Qt apps → dolphin, some parts of the systemsettings
  • systemsettings for mouse configuration will NOT have any effect for xf86-input-libinput and never will have, because this will only change for wayland
  • minimal mouse movements are not possible. so gamer of games like tombraider or shooters will suffer

I have a fresh install of Manjaro 16.08 (Ellada) and noticed that when clicking `ALT+arrow` or ALT and a function key (for instance ALT+F2) changes the TTY I’m currently in. Furthermore, ALT+F2 is a shortcut that I created for an application and I notice that if I click the following happens:

  • It changes to tty2
  • When I get back to the “graphical tty” (CTRL+ALT+F7) the application is open.

So it means that it still has the mapping I created.
This has happened on 2 different machines, both with this Manjaro Version. The only difference though, is that one uses kernel 4.4 and another 4.7.

This didn’t happened on previous Manjaros, so I’m supposing it’s bug. Let me tell if I can provide further information.

Thanks!

First bug report here, so feel free to change as needed.

Booted into the live USB (XFCE 16.10.1 iso) and was met with a black screen and blinking underscore cursor. I tried nomodeset in Grub, which is typically needed for contemporary NVIDIA cards (GTX960), but got the same result. Reverted back to integrated graphics in the BIOS, changed my video port, and was able to install. I saw that the NVIDIA/Intel Bumblebee driver was installed, so I attempted to switch the BIOS back to the graphics card but got the same cursor issue. The solution was to uninstall the Bumblebee proprietary driver and instead install the plain proprietary driver by NVIDIA (in the Manjaro proprietary driver menu—won’t allow simultaneous install of Bumblebee and NVIDIA drivers). This latter driver should have been chosen from the original boot in case users are not able to troubleshoot the graphics driver issue.

Happy to provide more info, just let me know

130Desktop Settings & ProfilesBug ReportkdeMediumLogitech M570 Trackball to slow on linuxUnconfirmed
0%
Task Description

Since my Manjaro Linux use libinput, the Trackball (Logitech M570) has a slow Mousepointer.
Adjusting it via KDE-GUI-Panel for mouse didn’t work, even like adjusting at cli via xinput.

I found this thread, which suggest to create a hwdb-file to setup the right DPI for the mouse: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1217881#c8

This even not work, but point me to the right direction. I was confused, because If I enter xinput list, I got two entries:

⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2 [master pointer (3)]
⎜   ↳ Logitech M570                             id=11   [slave  pointer  (2)]
⎜   ↳ Logitech M570                             id=12   [slave  pointer  (2)]

So I thougt, maybe the first suggestion didn’t work at Manjaro (arch) Linux, because udev found to much entries for the name of the mouse.

So I go on to search how to replace the “name:” Parameter in this command and found this Page: https://github.com/arduino/dfu-utils-cross/blob/master/eudev-3.1.5/hwdb/70-mouse.hwdb

# if vid/pid is unavailable, use
# mouse:*:name:<name>:
# if name is unavailable, use
# mouse:<subsystem>:v<vid>p<pid>:*
#
# For example, the following 5 matches all match the same mouse:
# mouse:usb:v17efp6019:name:Lenovo Optical USB Mouse:
# mouse:usb:*:name:Lenovo Optical USB Mouse:
# mouse:usb:v17efp6019:*
# mouse:*:name:Lenovo Optical USB Mouse:

So I’ve done this, which work for me:

sudo /etc/udev/hwdb.d/99-m570.hwdb
# Logitech M570 trackball
mouse:usb:v046dp1028:name:*:
 MOUSE_DPI=540@167
sudo udevadm hwdb --update

Then restart X.

Changing the Settings at the KDE-Mouse-GUI Setting-panel still seems to have no effect, but the mousepoister is faster then before.

Hope this will be fixed soon.

See here... I have also create a stackoverflow-thread: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/41716250/logitech-m570-trackball-to-slow-on-linux

The user is forced to manually use the command to mount in 'ro' mode:

Correct behavior: a user's query whether you want to mount the Windows partition in read-only mode.

A user reported in December 2016 (only now I’ve time to dig into it) that manjaro-chroot doesn’t work like expected.

Example:

[root@manjaro manjaro]# manjaro-chroot -a
==> Detected systems:
 --> 0) ManjaroLinux
==> Select system to mount [0-0] :

Here choosing 0 runs nothing, choosing 1 mounts the system and chroot to that correctly.

Reading the code I’ve seen this case statement:

for os in ${os_list[@]};do
[...]
  case $last in
    'efi') count=$((count-1)) ;;
    *) info "$i) $(get_os_name $os)"; i=$((i+1)) ;;
  esac
[...]
done

This way if the script prints 0, it could happen that the 0 element in the array is efi.

I could be wrong but something like this should work:

for os in ${os_list[@]};do
[...]
  case $last in
    'efi') i=$((i+1)) ;;
    *) info "$i) $(get_os_name $os)"; i=$((i+1)) ;;
  esac
[...]
done

The only problem is aesthetic, because it can happens that the list is numbered (1,2,3) or (0,2,3).
Probably a better solution exists.

  1. > when trying to boot error message that login service cant be started is displayed multiple times. Boot fails.

2) a colored boot menu is displayed with additional options F1-F4

I have installed VBA-M; the Nintendo Game Boy Advance emulator, on my Manjaro installation through the “vbam-gtk” package. But it won’t launch if I try to launch it from the Menu in XFCE. If I try to launch it from the terminal with the “gvbam” command, then it fails to launch with the following message;

gvbam: error while loading shared libraries: libsfml-network.so.2.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

The version of sfml that I have installed is 2.4.0-1 (from the community repository), so my /usr/lib/ folder contains libsfml-network.so, libsfml-network.so.2.4, and libsfml-network.so.2.4.0. Just not the version of sfml that VBA-M is looking for.

Task Description

After each update, or anytime upon demand, pamac should show all processes still running binaries that have been deleted/replaced as a result of the system update (Apply” process.

Also consider adding this information to the “State” tab, by adding another category (”Running Obsolete” or “Walking Dead”) to the left hand list of statuses, and displaying all such modules in the right hand panel.

I currently run a small shell script that consists of the following one line command to obtain this information:

sudo lsof -w +aL1 / |grep -v \/tmp

This would give users the clue that they should NOT expect to see all of the results of their upgrade until they logout and back in, or reboot if the “user” column is indicated as Root or some other daemon.

Manjaro Settings Manager/Keyboard Settings takes the list of available keyboard layouts from /usr/share/X11/xkb/rules/base.lst.
MSM doesn’t take into account additional keyboard layouts from base.extras.xml.
Please, add an option to MSM to take into account this extra layouts (As an idea, by re-generating base.lst using both xml-files).
Or make all layouts from both files: base.xml and base.extras.xml, – to be available by default.

I’ve an optimus card at work which always had issues with the settings-manager/mhwd. I decided to give the installation of the proprietary drivers a new shot with the settings manager. In the past, it just “hung” on pacman, now it’s segfaulting when I click “install proprietary drivers”.

I’ve built manjaro-settings-manager with debug symbols (taking the PKGBUILD from github -extra repo) and took a backtrace - hopefully this will help.

78Manjaro Hardware DetectionBug ReportProfilesLowPlease remove "video-vesa" from mhwdUnconfirmed
0%
Task Description

the vesa option is mostly used as fallback, if nothing else works. However, now in 2016 and on X86 plattforms we dont need this one anymore. Instead it confuses users and might break X.org-server for most of them.

This is because of one thing
xorgs vesa drivers dont supports or can even handle “Kernel based modesettings”(KMS). If KMS are available, Xserver will not start but bring you to a TTY.

Now the situation is, that for ALL Intel hardware, ALL AMD hardware, and the most nvidia hardware the kernel modules will set up KMS, in addition the intel,amdgpu,ati and noveau xorg-drivers only support KMS and will not work with “Userspace modesettings” (UMS) anymore.

So in this case:
As noveau, AMDGPU, Intel and Radeon user: when you switch to “video-vesa” you will not be able to start X anymore
for catalyst users: if you try to switch to “video-vesa” it will more likely break your xserver installation, because of the old 1.17 of catalyst
for Nvidia-blob users it might work, but in the time you need to switch to vesa, you can also switch to noveau.

wich makes “video-vesa” a useless relict that confuses users and it really should be removed or put to a separate pkg that is not pre-installed.

Re: Network connection:
This is a downstream Manjaro issue. They install a driver that thinks can handle your wireless chipset, but actually cannot (which would be a bug in broadcom-wl, so only Broadcom can fix that). I think it is not a good idea to install non-Free drivers without asking. (Asking is what the license module is for.) I also do not understand why they install the driver on the live system rather than the installed system, that sounds very broken. It is possible that the driver is already there from the beginning and just happened to break down during the installation process, without Calamares directly causing that at all. In any case, this needs to be filed downstream at Manjaro.
https://calamares.io/bugs/browse/CAL-418

Note, I *did* select the “non-free” drivers option at boot.

Task Description

Keyboard media keys (play/pause, next, previous) are not automatically mapped to the right function. I know the idea of Arch is to keep it barebones, but I think it would behoove Manjaro to have these keys work for new users as desired. Standard procedure, as I understand it, is to install the playerctl AUR and then map the keys (XF86AudioPlay, XF86AudioNext, XF86AudioPrev) to the commands (playerctl play-pause, playerctl next, playerctl previous).

Task Description

I’m likely in the wrong category as I can’t seem to find any documentation as to what handles the function of the media keys. The wireless on/off key on my hp pavillion notebook is on f12 with my bios set for the f keys to primarily function as their media keys with fn being required to use the regular function of f1-12. Today I noticed that I could not use the key which has worked in other linux distros and likely on Manjaro in the past. I wound up having to boot into Windows to enable wireless then reboot into Manjaro which solved my issue. I’ll be continuing to read into what handles the function of the media keys on linux, and if I discover this is my stupidity somehow, I’ll post my solution as well in case someone else does the same.

Task Description

When I install or remove a kernel using the kernel KCM module, the generated grub.cfg doesn’t have the Windows entries.

Executing: sudo update-grub from shell fixes the problem

Also when a kernel is updated via shell the resulting grub.cfg is correct.

It seems that the kernel module doesn’t use update-grub and skips os-prober for some reason.

in live installation there is no problem as the module is present. but broadcom-wl is not installed during installation process as it’s not defined
in mhwd database.

it should be added to have the wireless working after installation.

Using community/compiz-manjaro 0.9.13.1-1. Sometimes the Firefox window looses the window decorations when being unminimized. The decorator is still running since other windows still have their decorations. The bug is known: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/1067951 As far as I understand, the fix in the linked bug report only works for Mate but not for Xfce. But maybe something similar can be implemented for Xfce either?

128InstallationFeature RequestCommunity EditionLowAvahi and mdns configurationUnconfirmed

Task Description

Manjaro GNOME installs the avahi package by default. This package is required by many gnome core packages, such as gvfs.

GNOME-oriented distributions like Fedora configure avahi by installing packages such as python2-dbus and nss-mdns for Nautilus’ avahi integration, as well as altering the /etc/nsswitch.conf hosts line to be:

hosts: files mdns_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] dns myhostname

as documented on the Arch Wiki.

This way by enabling avahi-daemon.service Nautilus is ready to find local network machines and services with the mDNS bonjour protocol, and this is an extremely convenient feature.

Manjaro as a ‘friendlier’ Arch Linux distribution should be pre-configured like Fedora regarding Avahi. So the Manjaro installer could:

  • install python2-dbus and nss-mdns
  • configure the hosts line in /etc/nsswitch.conf as described above

Task Description

Hi,

in Manjaro using kernel 4.9 or 4.10 on a Machine with “AMD APU A86500T” it is not possible to shutdown. The machine reboots instead. Known Bug.

SOLUTION:

add kernel parameter “radeon.dpm=0” in Grub2. (means: powersaving of the APU disabled or so)

Some Distributions like Mageia 5/6 need this parameter even when booting.
Without this parameter the installation crashes instantly when booting.
Manjaro is NOT affected and runs without the parameter “radeon.dpm=0” up to Kernel 4.8.

As I have Manjaro and Mageia on the same (testing) machine,
I put the parameter into the wrong GRUB by accident... ;-))))
And voila, it is possible to shutdown the machine!!!

I am new to manjaro (archlinux). I don’t know how the package “infinality-bundle/fontconfig-infinality-ultimate” gets installed in my system. Maybe it’s installed by default manjaro release or maybe it’s installed by some other packages. Now, whenever I run

sudo pacman -Syy

, I will get the following error msg:

error: failed retrieving file 'infinality-bundle.db' from bohoomil.com : Could not resolve host: bohoomil.com
error: failed to update infinality-bundle (download library error)

It seems infinality-bundle and bohoomil.com is dead. By googling, I found this article “https://gist.github.com/cryzed/e002e7057435f02cc7894b9e748c5671“. The workaround looks very complicated and it doesn’t look like a real fix to me. Some people did meet problems by following steps described by that guide.
I am new to manjaro and really don’t know what to do. Will manjaro team fix this issue later so that I can get rid of infinality-bundle and that error magically by running `sudo pacman -Syyu` in the future?

Thank you very much.

I tried running manjaro-xfce-17.0-beta3-testing-x86_64.iso.
On the first screen i can press F2 to select language.
The language list is translated to each language.
So for my language it says “Dansk” instead of the english work “Danish”.

But if you select the last menu item (Keyboard) you get another list, but this time all the menu items are in english.

So i suggest that all menu items in the Keyboard submenu use the same translations as under Language.
So it would say “Dansk” both places instead og now when it says “Dansk” once place and “Danish” the other place.

Hello.

I have a folder in a NAS to do backup copies. The speed of the connection is gigabit, in the same VLAN without routing, in both devices: NAS and PC. The NAS has a embedded linux of manufacturer.

The folder in the NAS are mounted with cifs.

//nas-job/my.user /media/nas-job/my.user cifs username=my.user,uid=myuser,credentials=/etc/samba/nas-job,iocharset=utf8 0 0

I want to copy two ISO of Manjaro, some 1.7GB, from the PC to the NAS, as I have always done, using Thunar. The transfer rate was always very high and the transference finished in very little time.

On the 21-02-17th, on having realized the copy, the speed was ridiculous, the maxim was of approximately 2.2 Mb/s, and Thunar was showing on the transference screen that it was going to be late 3 hours in finishing the transference.

When I do the copy from a terminal with the command cp, the transfer rate is very high (approximately 400 Mb/s) and the transfer time are shorter.

Hi.

I use Manjaro Tools to both do ISO and build packages.
Both needs dependencies from my custom repository.

Buildiso uses the user-repos.conf file to add the repo to the ISO‘s pacman.conf file. This is great and easy to use.
Buildpkg only uses the pacman-default.conf and pacman-multilib.conf, as far as I know, so I have to edit these files to include my repository.

This, however, results in when I build an ISO, the pacman.conf in the ISO has 2 entries for the same repository, which generates an “error: Database already registered” message whenever the CLI is used for updating and installing.

Is there any way I can get both buildiso and buildpkg to use my repo, without getting that double entry in my ISO‘s pacman.conf?

I’m getting the below error when attempting to upgrade Manjaro

$ sudo pacman -Syu
:: manjaro-system: installing pacman (5.0.1-5) breaks dependency 'pacman-init'

There’s a post on this by another user on Stack as well: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/361086/manjaro-system-installing-pacman-5-0-1-5-breaks-dependency-pacman-init Is this a known issue? If so, how might I be able to work around?

This happens on a fresh install of Manjaro KDE, basically, due to the fact by default user profile folders are not readable by others, causes SDDM not to show the profile pictures.

They seem to ignore /var/lib/AccountsService files, the permissions there are fine. In fact, deleting .face files inside user folders makes SDDM not to show the picture even if the permissions are correct. So SDDM uses those files instead

I used KDE to change the profile pictures. Even to create another user, which attacches the “wrong” permission.

Should this be reported upstream? I don’t know if that is an SDDM malfunction.

Hi dear Manajaro Developers,

i want to generate a https mirror list,
wich have a ping ⇐0.3 Seconds.

pacman-mirrors -v
pacman-mirrors 4.1.4

uname -a

Linux 4.11.1-1-MANJARO #1 SMP PREEMPT Sun May 14 18:49:23 UTC 2017 x86_64 GNU/Linux

cat /etc/lsb-release

DISTRIB_ID=ManjaroLinux
DISTRIB_RELEASE=17.0.1
DISTRIB_CODENAME=Gellivara
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Manjaro Linux"

I did it with the command

pacman-mirrors -g -c all -t 0.3 -a –proto https

pacman-mirrors: error: argument -t/--timeout: invalid int value: '0.3'

In my opinion, the option -t have to be declared and handled as float,
because many of the mirrors respond faster than 1 second.

I have tried to patch the file with the float value declaration of the timeout option

/usr/lib/python3.6/site-packages/pacman_mirrors/pacman_mirrors.py

parser.add_argument("-t", "--timeout",
                            type=float,
                            metavar=txt.SECONDS,
                            help=txt.HLP_ARG_TIMEOUT)

this works halfway

the output shows, that the not responding mirrors
also get included in the mirrorlist,
this behaviour is also present without the float declaration patch

pacman-mirrors -g -c all -t 0.3 -a –proto https

If you just want to copy the name of a package as well as the horribly long version numbers there appears to be no way to do so as the text on the details screen is not selectable.

So you need to go to the command line or somewhere else to get this info.

Would be nice if pamac had a more info button that would run something (perhaps in a terminal) like

"pacman -Q  <package> -i"

And make that output available for copy.

The wallpaper (and choice of folder) defaults to /usr/share/backgrounds/xfce rather than just /usr/share/backgrounds on the second screen of my install. Not sure if it’s a Manjaro default config or XFCE issue.

To replicate: Right-click on desktop, go to preferences to change wallpaper, drag window to first screen detected by graphics card and the active folder changes to /backgrounds. Drag window to second screen detected and the active folder changes to /xfce.

Pressing reboot closes steam then keeps my computer as it is. So if I want to restart my computer, I can either exit steam first then press reboot or just press reboot twice. On desktop session setting, I tried all three log in options and had the same result. Not a major issue but I wanted catch some bugs.
